MEET THE THORNE FAMILY

Founder of Tabletop Christmas Tree Project

The Tabletop Christmas Tree Project began during one of the hardest Christmas seasons our family experienced. After our daughter Ava was critically ill and hospitalized over Christmas, a simple act of kindness changed everything. A cafeteria worker allowed us to borrow a small pre-lit tree for the night on Christmas Eve. In that moment, we experienced how something so small could bring so much joy, comfort, peace, and hope.

Rooted in our faith, we felt called to share that same light with others. What started as a single tree has grown into a mission to remind every child hospitalized over Christmas that they are loved and not alone, and the light of Jesus is with them.

Why We Do What We Do

The Tabletop Christmas Tree Project exists to bring moments of joy to children and their families facing hospital stays during the holidays. Rooted in the love of Jesus, we are driven by compassion, faith, and a desire to remind every family that they are seen, deeply loved, and are never alone.
